Do you know what it means to "Survive Outside the Hood?"
Are you prepared to survive outside the 3 to 4 block area you call your hood?
Before you answer that question realize that hanging out in a hood occupied by another section of your homies is NOT
surviving outside the hood, but merely transplanting yourself from one target range to another.
Can you survive in a world where giving up, pulling a gun, and/or beating someone up is not acceptable?
Are you able to even function in an atmosphere where being a tough ass is neither accepted nor tolerated?
Will you feel comfortable where slang is neither used nor understood?
Do you have what it takes to be judged by how well you use your brain and not your fist?
Also know that you may be seeking love and respect from an individual that may never give you those things.
Don't suffer because of their stupidity.
Give yourself love and respect, and give others love and respect so that individuals like the one that is hurting you can
cease to exist.
Let's Sell Drugs!
Ever since you were a little kid all you ever wanted to be was a drug dealer. While other kids wanted play cops and robbers,
doctor and nurse, or teacher and student -- you wanted to play drug dealer and junkie. Now you're all grown up and ready
to make your dream come true. You are ready to be the local neighborhood drug dealer. The person in charge of bringing the poison that destroys our people into the neighborhood. You'll be an inspiration to all who know you and an excellent
role model for your brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters.
There you are day after day on the streets selling nickels and dimes. You are so cool!
So are you a big time drug dealer? HELL NO! You're just a pawn, a smoke screen, an idiot doing the dirty work for those
that are really making big time money. OK so maybe you're saying "Yo dude, I'm going to be moving kilos, driving a Lexus."
Guess what, you'll be a bigger pawn, a bigger idiot.
The REAL big time drug dealers are never seen any where near the hood! They don't go to jail and have plenty of money
to keep themselves free if the problem should present itself. One of the surest ways for big time drug dealers to keep
themselves out of jail is by making sure that law enforcement has a steady supply of drug offenders to arrest.
THAT WOULD BE YOU!
So if you ever wondered why you only see mostly street corner nickel and dime dealers get arrested (maybe you don't know
any other type of drug dealer), and every so often the Escalade driving drug dealer gets arrested -- now you know why.
Very little police work, and lots of business deals is what goes on. You are the bargaining chip.
So what else do you need to know about this business --Oh Yeah, FELONY!
Depending on the quantity of drugs you get arrested for, you may be charged with a felony.
Some drug related felonies come with mandatory prison sentences, but that's not even the worst of it.
In some states people convicted of a felony are not eligible to vote. I know, who cares right? Well consider this:
What is now considered the majority race will soon be the minority race but will still be in power because of the number
of people that are in the NEW MAJORITY --- WON'T BE ABLE TO VOTE!
Think anyone cares about a race having a greater number of people when a large percentage have been convicted of one
crime or another? Are you now waking up to why it's so easy to get drugs in the hood? It's not because you're cool,
it's not because we're beating the law --
IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO DO!
QUIT POISONING YOUR OWN PEOPLE LIKE YOU'RE EXPECTED TO DO!
I Just Want To Get High!
OK, so you don't want to be a drug dealer, you just want to get high! You want to be the Junkie in the Drug Dealer and Junkie game. That makes you really cool! Everything said above about felonies apply to drug users as well. But a felony is the least
of your worries. Chances are you will be walking around like a zombie scheming on how to get money for your next fix. No one trust you -- including your family, and no one really wants you around. They may be too scared of you to tell you but eventually
you'll be alone. All the while you're blaming everyone for not loving you and not wanting to help when you only count money for
your drug as love and help. Diseases such as AIDS is a reality in your world as are children born with birth defects and disabilities. But you only care about you and your next high. You're so cool!
Weed (Marijuana) doesn't do that to you! Is that what you're thinking?
Marijuana will cause birth defects and disabilities. It will put your brain cells to sleep and sometimes cause you to feel paranoid. Certainly there are many superstars smoking weed, but how many of them have to go to school the next day?
Do you have the millions in the bank they have that allows them to stay high?
Do you have the funds they have that keeps them out of jail?
While were at it, all you have to do is watch any music video channel when they do a behind the scenes view on washed
up stars, and even current stars to know that they regret doing all the drugs they did -- including smoking weed.
Drugs were introduced into minority neighborhoods to create separation and desperation. They create and sustain ghettos.
Yes, there are many that have gotten high when they were young that are now doing quite well in life --- ask them when they
quit and if they still get high? Answers: A long time ago, and HELL NO!
Not everyone has the same tolerance for drugs. What gets you high may kill your friend and vice versa.
Drugs will cause you to make stupid decisions that you wouldn't normally make.
In case you didn't know -- alcohol is a drug!
Know any one that was raped while drunk or high? I DO!
Know anyone that had sex with some one they found hideous and later regretted it because they were drunk or high? Yeah!
Know any junkie, crack heads, pot heads, alcoholics? Of course you do! How do you think they got that way?
Know anyone that has died due to drug and/or alcohol use? Yup!
All of the above have one thing in common:
They all think they are cool, smart, and it will never happen to them.
JUST LIKE YOU!
DON'T POISON YOURSELF --- YOU'RE MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!
Getting high can cause serious damage to your health.
It can also cause serious damage to the health of others because of your choice to be high.
Regardless of what excuses, theories, or just plain old bullshit you've heard about getting high
there is one constant truth:
GETTING HIGH BLURS YOUR JUDGEMENT!
You will do things you normally would not do.
Have sex with people you wouldn't normally have sex with.
Associate with types of people that put your life at risk.
Getting high kills your brain cells so the question becomes...

*Marijuana: Kept my mind numb for most of my life. Allowed me to
ignore the seriousness of the problems in my life when I should
have been dealing with them. Before I discovered marijuana I was an
Honor Roll student. Once I discovered marijuana I lost interest in school.
*Cocaine: I snorted so much cocaine, which was cut with who knows what,
that I often bled from my nose. The damage to my nostrils is so
serious that now I could barely breathe through my nose, and often sound
like I'm out of breath. Cocaine made me skinny and frail. It had me living
in a zombie like state for 3 or 4 years.
* Alcohol: Rendered me violent and out of control. I acted like a wild
animal toward other people. I woke up in strange places and cared very
little about hygiene.
Together these drugs made me act stupid and irresponsible.
I hurt myself and others and lived like a bum on the streets.
I had sex with people I wouldn't otherwise had sex with out of the desperation for these drugs.
My body deteriorated and my mind was in a constant state of confusion.
I became the junkie, wino, hype -- whatever -- I used to laugh at, and swear I would never be.
Ultimately these drugs landed me in jail. What will they do to you?
No doubt there were other factors that led to the things I mentioned above but there is one thing
I can say with certainty: Getting high was not the answer to my problems and by not recognizing
that my problems escalated to extreme results.
Don't Believe the Hype!
In our fame worshiping, crazy society we end up following the leads of many famous people because
we want to be like them. Unfortunately, many famous people are idiots.
It is very easy for the rich and famous to go in and out of drug addiction because they have the money to pay
for recovery after recovery and to keep themselves out of jail. And of course, the publicity they get is excellent
for their career.You don't have those resources so - you will suffer, and you will go to jail.
If asked if you would allow your kids to get high, you would probably say NO! There is a reason for that, follow it.
There are many who have experimented with drugs and have quit before they ruined their lives -
others have died because of drugs or walk as living dead due to their addiction.
For you old POTHEADS out there, there is nothing more embarrassing to a kid than the thought of his/her friends
knowing that you are an OLD POTHEAD!
But most important, you are giving your kids a reason why to do drugs.
Do research on the shit you are putting in your body don't take anybody else's word for it.
For those of you in the hood, you'll be surprised to learn that drugs such as Heroin and Crack were
introduced into our communities as a way to poison our minds and keeps in a self destructive state.
